The sky carries the weight of an Atlantic weather front moving in — deep burgundy cloud-mass bruised against cold blue, the kind of sky you hear named in a late-night radio forecast before the static settles.
Below, the sea holds an almost impossible turquoise, that particular clarity found only in northern waters between squalls, where light breaks through briefly and transforms everything. Horizontal bands of sand and shoreline anchor the foreground, their warm golds and ochres a reminder of land underfoot — of islands that hold their ground against whatever the ocean brings.
The composition feels like a forecast itself: layered, sequential, read from bottom to top, each band a different register of the same story. Stillness before the next system arrives.
